The seeds of teams which are competing in NCAA men’s basketball tourneys determine how they’ll be divided. The selection committee is typically comprised of conference commissioners and athletic directors. The committee that selects seeds assigns them for each team according to the record of their regular season and against non-Division III common opponents.
